Sports
Our first opportunity to do sports took place during summer camps 2006 when
swimming lessons were offered every Friday. In addition, soccer clinics were
also held at a nearby field.
The first soccer camps by volunteers from overseas were offered by Meegan and
Tanya, two volunteers who came from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in
december of 2006. More than 60 kids and youth participated. Similarly, Kime, a
volunteer from Alaska who arrive in fall of 2007 led a soccer camp that was highly
successful.
Although we want to pursue a regular schedule of sport offerings we still need
enough personnel and volunteers to make it possible. Volunteers who want to
teach volleyball, badminton, soccer, swimming, basketball, baseball and even
tennis are highly desirable.
Sports may be an offering during summer camps or volunteers may offer any sport
workshops in which they feel comfortable during any time of their service with the
Foundation.
